Deer Meadow Farmacy (not to be confused with Deer Meadow Farms) is a regenerative, permaculture-style family farm managed by caretakers Sean, Kristi-Lyn, Joy-Anna, Jacob and Jack Buckley.
“ Our goals are to provide locally available, ethically raised food that’s superior in flavour, health benefits and nutrient density. As well as provide positive ecological impacts and community education while raising it. We are open, transparent and connected with our customers and community. While maintaining this type of relationship we hope to be a beacon of alternative, regenerative agriculture- showcasing what can be possible by turning away from the conventional animal production models.
We raise animals according to nature’s cycles and principles, choosing to work with nature, instead of against it. Biodiversity is our overarching goal.”
Borderland Agriculture specializes in Canadian regeneratively-raised bison. This means the pastures are managed by mimicking nature, allowing bison to graze as they once did when they roamed the plains. They spend their life roaming pastures and grazing all year round with the use of adaptive grazing. In doing so, we ensure they get the all the nutrients they need. The result is a healthier, happy life for them, and a healthier, more nutrient dense meat.
“ By using regenerative agriculture, everything works as an ever changing ecosystem. We are care takers of not only the land, plants, and bison, but also the great Canadian wildlife, and those who live and work on the farm, or as Jen likes to call them, our "FARMILY."
